Health Hero:Rudy Moyado
For years, Rudy Moyado, an instrument mechanic at a Chicago
power plant, was the poster boy for a sedentary lifestyle. Then,
14 years ago, doctors lowered the boom: "You have diabetes"-
the same disease that killed his mother. Those frightening words
got Moyado moving, in more ways than one.
As a young man with a young family, my life was about working
as much overtime as I could, seven days a week, then rushing
home to spend time with my children.
I ate big portions of hearty home-cooking. I weighed 210 pounds,
and I knew something was wrong with me; I just didn't know what.
My vision was blurry, I was constantly thirsty, and I was exhausted
-all classic diabetes symptoms. Not surprisingly, I learned that I
had type 2 diabetes.
Then, I have Joined the diabetes treatment program and
able to access exclusive health tips, News , Recipes & videos.
